Research interests
As an artist and an Associate Head (Research), UniSQ School of Creative Arts, my research explores how creative arts can become a catalyst for person-centred storytelling concerning social wellbeing, and cultural resiliency in light of a difficult past. My interest in visual art narratives include gender and historical trauma.

As a visual artist, specialising in sculpture and installation, I explore practice-led, student-centred and Students-as-Partners (SaP) pedagogical approaches that enable students to experience immersive industry learning. I explore the ways in which visual and creative modalities can enhance higher education across undergraduate and postgraduate program development.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, crossing installation, large scale commissions, animation, and paper cutting. My research explores intersections between the natural environment, technology and culture. I am also particularly interested in traditional paper cutting folk art techniques, which are re-contextualises through animation and cut-out works including murals and paintings.

I am currently engaged in Arts Health collaborations and Industry led research projects that engage and connect the Australian screen sector to scholarly collaborations to deliver end user outcomes. I am currently pursuing research involving Virtual Production and AI and examining the potential of developments like the Volume over green screen technologies.

My research draws primarily on the experimental music tradition and acoustic ecology — using sound to consider listening, space, place, people and temporality. I build ambitious large-scale site-specific projects where collaboration is a key element. I share my work in recordings, performances, and installations across the globe.

I lecture and teach at undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research levels in music research, artistic research methodology, 20th and 21st century music history and culture, new music performance practices, percussion performance and improvisation.
